It was about building your reputation and in getting good customer feedback - you good rep would then help people find you based on their location and in the services that you provide.
Now Checkatrade is a money-making machine where they will sign up as many businesses as poss to make a load of money but as a business you just don't get seem even if you have the best reputation in what you do...
