Complaint Review — Incorrect CCJ Application by Checkatrade and Their Solicitors During Company Liquidation I am extremely disappointed with the way Checkatrade and their solicitors have dealt with my case, particularly their decision to apply a County Court Judgment (CCJ) incorrectly at a time when I was liquidating my company. This action was not only unfair but also completely disregarded the legal process I was following in liquidating the business. When I entered liquidation, all financial matters should be dealt with by the liquidator in compliance with insolvency legislation. Instead, Checkatrade, alongside their solicitors, proceeded to pursue a CCJ directly against me, disregarding both the liquidator’s role and the appropriate legal framework. This resulted in significant stress, additional financial complications, and a potential stain on my financial record — all due to their failure to follow proper procedure. This incident shows a lack of diligence, understanding, and fairness on their part, causing unnecessary distress during a difficult time for me and my business. It feels as though they chose to ignore the correct process in a rush to collect a debt, which was both unlawful and unfair.
