If I could give a lower star rating I probably would. I waited in all day since I got a text in the morning saying my parcel was going to be delivered on 12/1/24 and they gave me an hour time slot for the delivery, good. The delivery van arrived approximately an hour and 40 mins late. I had been watching the tracking so went to the door as soon as the van arrived and said hello to the driver. He then routed around in the back of his van for at least 20 mins, spoke to someone on his phone, routed around some more, spoke to someone on his phone again and then got back into his van and drove away without telling me why my parcel was not being delivered or where it might be. Then my tracking updated saying there was no one home to sign for the delivery. That is a downright lie ! I was standing on my doorstep watching the driver all the way through this. It would have been nice if the driver had had the decency to come and tell me face to face what was going on rather than slinking off without saying a word. This is unbelievably poor service. Later that evening the tracking information changes to say the item has been delivered and I get an email telling me the same. Again this is a lie, it has not been delivered as later still the tracking says the item is at the delivery office and delivery was attempted but the delivery driver was unable to access the property. More lies, as mentioned above I watched the driver rummage in his van directly outside my house for 20 minutes before driving off without speaking to me. As the item was at the delivery office again I attempted to book a redelivery via the phone but the automated service said the item could not be booked for redelivery and I needed to contact the vendor. To make matters worse they say they can be contacted by phone but the service is automated and you never get put through to speak to someone. They say they can be contacted via Facebook but they don't respond to messages. I guess they just don't care. The item did get delivered safely several days later but what I object to strongly and what has prompted this review is the lack of communication from DHL and the downright lies DHL and their employees seem more than happy to tell about the delivery. I have to say that the vendor Thomann was great and very helpful throughout this whole thing. DHL did not respond in a satisfactory manner to my customer service enquiries. After this experience I would never use DHL to send a parcel and I hope that they are never the chosen courier for anything I buy in the future.
