Have banked with the Halifax for many years - savings, investments, mortgages etc. However recently very poor customer service. My wife and I received letters stating that one of our saving accounts was due to close and to visit local branch to discuss and change as necessary.
This we did only to be told that nothing could be done as it had to be done online. Explaining and showing the letter stating that we needed to visit the Plymouth branch, was told that Halifax policy had changed. Explaining that we had made a specific trip to resolve our issue. The branch manager was called over.
He was abrupt and rude, stating that it had to be done on line. I asked how we could make a complaint - we were told that any complaint made would be ignored. Very dissatisfied customer.
