Had to return a small granite frying pan today as had four or five small areas flaked off, I purchased it less than six months ago and use a Oxo soft spatula, I always bought supermarket frying pans then discarded when the non stick broke down, but decided to spend out on what I thought was a superior product so would last with care. I live alone and keep the small pan for frying one egg for breakfast only.
The store did replace it but with a warning not to fry at high temperature or wash it up whilst still warm.
Why aren't these warnings on the instructions, it seems ridiculous that it's not suitable to fry an egg a day without all the ridiculous precautions, I'm determined to follow the said rules and see if it makes any difference this time, if not it's back to disposable cheapies for me.
