Had to wait 5.5 hours between reporting a flat tyre and getting a recovery take me home. RAC requested recovery truck over two hours after I reported the flat tyre. They wasted those two hours because they ignored the information I completed in the app and scheduled a patrol man to come to me. When one was finally ready to attend he called me and in a few minutes coversation, in which i repeated the information I had already supplied in the app, he realised he would not be able to repair it and i needed a recovery truck. The problem was a nail in a motorbike tyre that had an inner tube. A patrolman in a van should be able to fix that with a roadside repair. But if patrolmen cant because they don't have the tools or training or its their policy not to, RAC should not waste time scheduling them and just arrange a recovery straight away. And they should have the capacity to respond quicker than two hours for the patrolman and another 3 hours plus for the recovery truck.
