My car broke down at 9:50 pm. One of the wheels shared off (managed to get a photo). Called RAC and they couldn’t find my policy, I have been with them for about 20 years with the top cover that includes tow and onward journey. I do eventually find the policy number and called again.. On second call they asked me if I had an accident, if Ihit anything or another car, or if there was a path hall, then they said they can come for a call out charge plus tow charges and repairs, because it’s an insurance matter and it’s not covered by RAC. On third call they said it’s covered and they were sending someone in 90 min. Got text message at 10:50pm confirmation of the booking. After 2 hours I asked for an update (still the premium number to call and waiting 6 minutes with the music playing... this time said nothing was booked and they hang up on me! Worse service ever, in the middle of the night with 4 children in a car.
