My wife and I planned a trip from Seattle to Spain primarily to go to the Formula One Spanish Grandprix in Barcelona. We decided to travel to Madrid, Segovia and end our vacation in Barcelona. We arrived in Spain on 5th June 2024 then out of the blue received an email from StubHub on June 13th 2024 saying our tickets had been successfully transferred to someone else. We purchased our tickets for F1 in October of 2023, printed them out to take with us. So here we were trying to sort out this mess seven days before the event, thousands of dollars spent to get to Spain and no tickets. Customer service was useless, after escalating the issue to their resolution department, no one got back to us. Numerous calls to customer service and got advised to cancel our transaction for the original purchase with our bank. We paid Stubhub $2,000. They wouldn't reverse the transfer of our tickets. We ended up having to purchase the only ticket left for one day $3000. I have a feeling that stubhub sold our original tickets to someone else at a higher price and suggested that our stubhub account had been hacked. We have started legal proceedings after notifying the Attorney General of questionable business practices by Stubhub. It's not just the money, it's also the emotional distress that caused us while in a foreign country.
