I purchased two premium tickets to the Rangers vs. Dodgers game- 5 rows behind third base- for $690.46. As a lifelong Dodgers fan, my mother was thrilled. She drove four hours to the game, excited to celebrate her milestone 55th birthday in a meaningful way.
Instead, she was told at the gate that the tickets were invalid.
She had called StubHub the night before, alarmed that she hadn't received them. She was told not to worry that the tickets were confirmed and would be delivered the day of the game. They never came.
On gameday, StubHub downgraded her to two $93 tickets in Section 117. Not even close to what I purchased despite there being seats available in the same section. And then, insultingly, she was sent a $9 discount code as compensation.
When I tried to escalate, I was told by Anna Lee, who claimed to be the highest point of escalation, that there was nothing further that could be done. She recited policies rather than taking accountability for a failure that clearly lies with your platform.
That is unacceptable.
