I was very disappointed that I came back after a year away from APLAN, to be given a quote which INCREASED by £40 when the insurance took effect. I had queried a point BEFORE the insurance began, which influenced the cost, but they didn't get back to me until almost a week after the nsurance had begun, telling me it would cost £40 more. The salesman concerned tried to pressurise me to pay the extra £40, saying he just wanted to make sure I was insured correctly, but saying it in a pressuring, almost aggressive way, repeating it a couple of times. I asked if he was saying I wasn't correctly insured if I didn't pay it, and he said no. A different APLAN employee (one I have dealt with regularly and who is courteous and helpful) dealt with me later and apologised. He reduced the amount to £20, but I should never have had to pay for some employee's slackness. I am very unhappy about the matter and, needless to say, it has changed my view for future renewals. I am sad about the current situation now and regret having come back and paid more than ALL quotes given by other companies. Margaret Jennings
