I originally took out an insurance policy with A choice because they were significantly cheaper than other quotes I had received.
However, their appalling customer service and aggressive letters mean I have regretted this decision almost immediately.
They charged my card twice for the deposit amount, and I had to phone twice to get this over charged amount refunded, each time sitting on hold for 20-30 minutes.
Despite sending the required documents (driving licence check) well within the allotted time frame, A choice canceled my insurance, which I only discovered by chance while clearing out my spam box, which means my car had been uninsured for some days. When I rang to query this, they told me I should have received a letter informing me of this - I did, two weeks later, 3 weeks after they had cancelled the policy.
I was also informed I would be charged a £70 admin fee, despite the fact they canceled the policy not me, without warning. I challenged this verbally and in writing twice. Neither letter has been acknowledge, but I have received three further threatening letters from the company.
Each time I have phoned A Choice I have been kept on hold for 20-30 minutes, only to then be spoken to in a rude and very unprofessional manner.
I wish I had read some of the other reviews on this page about this terrible company before taking out the policy, as it is very clear I am not the only one to have experienced these exact issues, and I could have avoided what has turned out to be a stressful and costly mistake.
Overall a terrible service, and company, avoid at all costs.
