I am using the product to add a harder wearing finish to a.n already high gloss (liquitex) varnish on a walnut car dashboard. The liquitex goes on smoothly and leaves a mirror finish, but this lacquer does not settle so leaves brush marks. I tried it with a foam applicator that I used with the Liquitex but the finish is very poor. It might be great for less important applications but is utterly useless for an ultra high gloss and most importantly an ultra smooth/fine finish. I am going to try a spray lacquer or just leave the finish i already have. So pleased i tried it on a spare section first!
