We had an absolutely appalling experience with Alamo. I cannot emphasis enough how little I would recommend this car rental company. Their customer service was a complete disgrace. We had our car broken into and some personal belongings including valuable jewellery and passports. Unfortunately when we tried to swap our rental for another vehicle of similar size, they were completely indifferent to our situation. We were sent to three different locations to try to find another vehicle. We were repeatedly told that they could guarantee us a car in Hollywood airport, and Santa Barbara airport but when we arrived they said they had no vehicle, which added hours of driving and wasted invaluable time on our holiday. It was also extremely dangerous as we had our large suitcases on top of us in the small car they gave us. The situation was already extremely stressful and after paying a premium price for the largest vehicle, we paid for the premium insurance, including the waiver, we expected better service. We were told to wait for management to contact us but they could not send us an email confirmation of our complaint.
