I had a horrible experience with Alamo in Mexico City and could not agree more with the negative reviews I've read here regarding absolutely terrible customer service. Even though I had confirmed with the Alamo international customer service office that I would not be hassled by the Mexico City agents about being required to purchase additional collision damage insurance upon my arrival, sure enough, the Alamo agents in Mexico refused to rent me a car unless I purchased their insurance driving the originally quoted rental fee up by 300%!! When I called the same international customer service office for help, suddenly, there was "nothing they could do". Next, with no other choice but to pay the higher price, when the agents brought the car to me, it was a subcompact, although I had reserved a standard. In fact, after showing the agent the reservation for a "Standard-sized car" along with the Google search showing the model car he presented was "a subcompact car", the response, for the second time, was "sorry, there is nothing we can do". Absolutely pathetic. We eventually walked out of the office to a nearby Avis rental car agency and had a fantastic experience. DO NOT RENT FROM ALAMO!!!
