I recently made a purchase of a book on eBay. After 3 days, I had still not had even a 'dispatched' mail, so I contacted them. I got a standard reply, pointing out that it took them 2 to 5 days to dispatch books! They showed 5 in stock as well (which I do not believe). With the weekend coming up, I cancelled the order, and placed it with Amazon instead (about 6PM at night). It was in my hands the next day at lunchtime. Although Amazon was about a pound more (£27.50) than the eBay seller, it was truly worth it for the excellent service.
