I ordered a custom Tony the Ant made with timber Chromexcel and configured with vertical card slots. The leather's color is gorgeous. It's a deep, rich brown that resembles color #8. The wallet has a refined yet rugged look, which complements the Chromexcel leather well. As you can expect with the Ashland brand, the leather's cuts are clean, and the weight is perfect for the wallet: It's thick enough that you don't feel it's cheap and at risk of tearing, but thin enough that the wallet is not too bulky in the front pocket (although the Tony is no minimalist wallet). The vertical arrangement of the pockets gives me more space than I know what to do with, which is exactly what I was wanting. All that said, this isn't actually the wallet that I asked for over email. But I immediately took a liking to the one that I got and can honestly say I'm perfectly satisfied with the newest addition to my collection. The good folks at Ashland offered to let me return it free of charge and try again to get my order right, but I turned the offer down so I could keep all the CXL goodness that I did get. The Ashland brand is as good as their leather craftsmanship, so even on the off chance that something goes wrong, you're in good hands.
