Although I had to wait a couple of weeks, this was not a problem, as the 6 inch crack was not in my direct visual field. Paid my excess on the initial phone call, which I thought reasonable. Technician arrived 2 hour later than time promised. He turned out to be a total star. My 9 year old S Class Mercedes proved difficult. Wipers arms had never been touched, so a real struggle to remove as was the windscreen. Mike (had driven from Abergavenny) coped admirably and patiently. Extremely competent, helpful and courteous.
