It’s been 7 weeks since a rep from Auto Windscreens replaced my windscreen. The job was botched, with my rear view mirror broken off, broken glass left all over the dashboard and the caps for the windscreen wipers left lying on the ground under the car. I have chased several times for a replacement and have had to purchase my own mirror as Auto Windscreens seem to take little interest in customer care. I even approached the complaints team who told me they don’t deal with customer issues! Amazing! So, I’ve had several emails assuring me that a refund will be processed and this is where I am still stuck… chasing the same people on a weekly basis. I have also complained to Dial Direct who use Auto Windscreens as their preferred supplier which is astounding. I will be choosing another insurance company next time. Please avoid Auto Windscreens, James MacBeth should be ashamed of himself.

I recently had a windscreen fitted by Auto Windscreens less than six months ago, and unfortunately the replacement has now cracked in exactly the same place as the original. This strongly suggests the installation was not done properly in the first place. When I contacted them about the issue, the experience only got worse. I was told I would receive a call back, but no one contacted me for two days, and I had to repeatedly chase them myself just to get any response. Over 6 calls were made in total. What’s most disappointing is the attitude. When I raised the possibility that this might be covered under warranty, it felt like they were doing everything possible to avoid responsibility. Their slogan says they’re “the company that’s clearly going places,” but based on my experience it feels more like they’re going out of their way to avoid honouring their work. That’s where the company is going! Even after I explained how unhappy I was and mentioned leaving a review, there was complete indifference from customer service. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience. A windscreen replacement should last far longer than a few months, and customers shouldn’t have to chase a company just to get basic communication. I would strongly recommend people look at other competitors before using this company, as there are clearly better options out there. “The company that clearly is scamming in places”

My windscreen cracked on 13th February and I contacted my insurer, Aviva, who referred me to Auto Windscreens. The earliest appointment available was 19th February. When the crack spread across the full windscreen making the vehicle undriveable, I rearranged for a home appointment on 23rd February (earliest available). On the morning of the confirmed replacement, I was informed they had ordered the wrong windscreen. Instead of accepting responsibility, the manager attempted to blame me regarding my registration details — despite my booking clearly stating BMW 3 Series. The vehicle was categorised as “low priority” without inspection or evidence request, despite the crack spanning the full windscreen and making the car unsafe and not roadworthy. The delay was entirely due to their ordering error, yet I was further deprioritised and inconvenienced. Very disappointing handling of what should have been a straightforward claim.

Awful company, took the car in 22nd December at the Brierley Hill branch, West Midlands. Car went in perfect came back 4 hours later damaged roof and passenger door car was covered in glass all over the interior. They had attempted to cover up the damage with paint it was still tacky. I got home and within half hour saw what damaged they had done , I called them straight away and sent photos. They have totally denied it and will not do anything . I said after several weeks of calling their customer care department and several photos and emails a manager eventually called me saying no damaged caused by us. They offered me a £100 good will gesture. I said what for causing damage to my car they still denied it. I said to the manager so is it a coincidence that the damage is where the screens been replaced and obviously somebody's leant against my door. I'm having to go through my insurance now as my fault claim. Shame on you , I don't believe the good reviews are genuine they are all over the internet with terrible workmanship and bad customer services. I'm now going to take them to the financial ombudsman. I said to the manager the windscreens a terrible job aswell rear view mirror coming away, he said would you like to drop it back into the branch where it was done I said no are you joking it's cosy me dearly this time. If you have to use them don't leave your vehicle unattended, video before and after, take loads of pics.

What a complete shambles, if they paid more attention to their badly put together web site and less time trying to sell you over priced rubbish like wipers i would consider using this rubbish company.

I Needed a windscreen replacement and booked it through my insurance. Auto windscreens is the selected repairer! Absolute disgrace of a "national" company. When initially making the appointment they can advise the day but will NOT give you a specific time until 24 hours before the appointment. How anyone can be expected to organise their work and life commitments within 24 hours is disgraceful, but company procedure, so I requested a Saturday appointment to ensure I have no issues. 2.5 weeks was the wait for the sat appointment and they still refused to give me a time more than 24 hours before. Recieved my appointment in Warrington on Friday 1st Aug for 9am on Sat 2nd Aug. At 8.55 am, 5 minutes before the appointment i got a call saying they didn't have the replacement windscreen in stock. And couldn't get one that day from their normal supply line. I was outside the depot when I got this call after organising childcare and a 40 minute drive to the depot. 2 staff members in the depot who had no work, and were sitting relaxing on a couch, said they didn't usually work there and told me to call the manager in the chester branch. Manager in the chester branch apologised and said there was nothing he could do and advised I call head office but gave me the call centre number. The call centre transferred me to a couple of agents and thenthe team leader Jack. All of whom agreed on the call it was a disgrace. I asked to look outside their normal supply line as it was their error and he stated the only person who could authorise this was the area manager. His phone was turned off after Jack tried to contact him multiple times. An absolute disgrace from a national "award winning" company! I will now need to arrange another Saturday of childcare, and drive with a dangerous crack in my windscreen without any resolution from Auto windscreens, and no offer to try and fix their error at their own inconvenience. WOULD RECOMMEND LOOKING ELSEWHERE FOR A MUCH IMPROVED AND MORE RELIABLE SERVICE!

They fitted a scratched windscreen, bubbles on the rain sensor, with gaps in between the mirror plastic which it’s slightly moving and windscreen. All the plastic from outside not on the right position stacked back in, they also lost one of the clips which I never been told, I did notice when I collect the car having a look around, they just lost it but never replace it till I ask to do so. Did the complain, first engineer one comes in telling me I should take £50 voucher there it’s everything as it should be which it’s not true. They offered to replace it with “a better quality one” XYG which was not the right one for my car as o had Pilkington , told them to replace it and the engineer run away because I told him to DO IT PROPERLY this time. Even the engineer comes to me with this XYG windscreen it’s not good , it’s Chinese made, bad quality despite the fact being told by the office it’s better quality, not trustfully with customers. Next day other engineer come , which notice that this XYG it’s not good for my car told office about that customer may refuse it, and he been told GO AND TRY to fit it! I did refuse it , as not same as had and been told by Julie that the windscreen I had on the car replaced one week ago was last one in stock so I should accept the Chinese made one. I did notice that this will not reach anything very soon , I did ask for the £50 voucher , accepting the scratched windscreen as it is , there are only people that not interested on providing the right service for customers despite the fact they charged £125 excess and fitted a windscreen with defects. Just don’t use, I had to because of my insurance! Even if you do use , don’t use Park Royal Branch this is where issues comes from with their manager calling me also and allowing his employee to leave on first day when I asked them to replace it!

Don’t be misled by the positive reviews you may see online—their real service shows itself only when you encounter issues with their products. I recently had my windscreen replaced through an insurance claim. Although my insurance company approved a genuine Discovery Sport windscreen, they installed a low-quality aftermarket version instead. The defect in the windscreen was immediately apparent. Rebooking an appointment to fix it was a nightmare, as no one seemed to know what they were doing. When I requested the genuine part for the reinstallation, they demanded an extra £150 on top of what I had already paid. It's clear they prioritize using the cheapest option available. I can't recommend their service. They wasted my time.

Horrendous company. Failed to turn up to first appointment, claiming GDPR prevented them from contacting the driver who had driven past. That driver submitted fake motes stating he had spoken to me but couldn't fit the screen, which was untrue - he hadn't stopped. They later would accuse me of cancelling when the lies they had woven got to tangled to talk their way our of. When they finally come to fit the screen, the guy was very quiet. Stated he would be a hour and nothing else was said. He fitted the screen - I went to clear the car of sealant after as the dash was covered and discover that I now have tinted windows and a clear front! It makes the car look cheap! It is a clear as Auto Windscreens not having a care in the world for quality or customer service. Awful company, and if it is a choice - it is probably cheaper for you to pay a professional fitter than use these insurance cowboys that fit what they want, how they want, damage the paintwork and couldn't car less.

Absolutely Disgraceful. AutoWindscreens were instructed to carry out a Screen replacement service via my insurer. Firstly, the supplied replacement is of poor quality, with clearly visible faults (Fitter continued with the installation regardless). In addition, said fitter caused significant damage to my vehicles bodywork, removing paint from the bonnet, roof, and a-pillar. He then applied etch primer to the damaged areas, in attempt to conceal them (making them considerably worse). The interior of the vehicle was also left covered in black sealant, and the fitter was seen sitting and kneeling on the dashboard of the vehicle throughout the “repair”. I have all of this on CCTV, and would be happy to share it, should anyone require clarification on the level of service they should expect from this company. Total estimate for repairs stands at over £1300, and a week later, I am still waiting for contact from their “Customer Service Team” in relation - In other words, they do not care, and I expect we’ll be setting this at court. Avoid like the plague.

After a month of making an initial booking for a replacement screen and paying my £100 excess fee this company has failed to serve me...I have had 2 appointments at my local fitting centre in Ipswich cancelled twice which caused me to waste two days holiday from work, they then left me in the dark for another week with no updates as to what was happening which led me to make the decision to cancel the whole booking I am now waiting for my £100 to be refunded and I will most probably have to chase that up aswell..avoid this company it's not worth the frustration and inconvenience....totally unacceptable
