After getting a quote through compare the market, we attempted to do the transaction online, alas we got an on-screen message to say that it couldn`t be done online and we had to call on a premium rate line, the website did say "we`ll call you back so it won`t cost you anything", we called, requested a call back, alas after 50 minutes no call back, so we rang again and the operator starts to go through the entire proposal on the phone, it was only after i interrupted the call to ask "why they hadn`t called back & how much the call was costing" (which isn`t on their website) it is infact 25p per minute, so all they are doing is keeping you talking to rack up a massive call charge.
I`m not 100% sure but i`m pretty certain it is illegal to post a premium rate number on a website without displaying the call cost to the public.
I asked about a refund of the cost of the call, i was told to put an itemised bill in the post along with a letter and it would be considered, ha, right oh.
