I had a hire vehicle earlier this year. In May 2022 I was sent an email stating:
“We are pleased to inform you that we have made a full recovery of hire charges from the responsible third party. Please accept this letter as confirmation that we have now closed our file and no further action is required”
In August I received an email stating I owed £800+ in charges due to the hire going over the allocated time.
I contacted times to try and arrange the vehicle to be picked up and nothing about charges was said. I had even received the above quoted email saying hire charges were fully recovered, they have closed the file and no further action was required.
I made a complaint and had a letter back basically stating the charges were justified and apparently they had tried to contact me multiple times.
Avoid at all costs. I would rather be without a vehicle. 11% of all reviews being one star speaks volumes.
