Avoid Aviva car insurance at any cost! I have been with Aviva for nearly five years. My policy was renewed on Feb 21. I received an email yesterday that my policy is cancelled due to the late payment. I called Aviva’s customer service today to figure out what is going. I was told today that Aviva was not able to process the payment in March, and they decided to cancel my policy with a day's notice. I was told that a letter was sent on Mar 4. I didn’t receive the letter. Aviva offered me a new policy for £168, twice the price that I was paying in Feb.
I am shocked and terrified that Aviva decided to cancel my policy without prior notice. I was driving my car yesterday uninsured … I am shaking right now, imagining what could have happened If I had an accident while driving an uninsured vehicle.
