Banco Sabadell has inexplicably closed our joint account with my husband, trapping our money, despite us having sent all requested documents multiple times – marriage certificate, pension papers, passports, everything – via various methods, and confirmed receipt on calls. We live abroad, which makes this even more of a nightmare. After weeks of sending documents into a black hole, receiving no answers to our letters, and being unable to reach a human being on any reliable customer service line, we received a threatening letter stating our account was closed due to "lack of documentation." This is a flat-out lie. Our funds are now inaccessible, and the bank offers no avenue for resolution or even basic communication. This is not just bad service; it's a complete failure of responsibility and a breach of trust. How can a bank simply confiscate funds and cut off all contact? Avoid Banco Sabadell, especially if you are a non-resident. You risk losing access to your own money with no recourse. Unacceptable.
