After an operation (at another hospital) I developed what I believed to be an infection and was advised to go to my nearest hospital (Basildon) A&E. You are meant to take a ticket when you enter A&E (I was told this after queuing to speak to a receptionist), I saw no signs indicting this was the procedure prior to queuing and speaking to a receptionist. After seeing a nurse who took my blood pressure and oxygen levels, another nurse who took blood, after six hours I saw who I presumed was a Doctor who was wearing a prayer hat and whose English was rudimentary at best. The Doctor berated me for not having a pice of paper that the lsat nurse i had seen had kept. I explained to the Doctor that I had surgery to my neck/back and i felt it was inflamed, they replied "have you got eyes in the back of your head then", I responded no but I can feel the inflammation, its hot and I also have a wife and a mirror at home . The Doctor then asked me "what is your nearest pharmacy" I told them they then asked m "is it open", I said no as it was late Sunday afternoon, and the Doctor then responded "why did you give me that pharmacy if its not open", I replied you asked me which was my nearest pharmacy not whether it was open? I asked whether the pharmacy at Basildon Hospital was and the Doctor replied "of course not its Sunday". I eventually travelled to Grays to a pharmacy that was open to get anti inflammatories and anti-biotics The Doctor came across as an irritable little man who had little time for patients, and incidently the toilets at A&E are a disgrace.
