I ordered a Christmas hamper with Ciseáin Go Leor on 29 November, for delivery to Rome. I paid them €113.41 for the hamper and €59.99 for “shipping and handling”.
They gave a delivery date of 3 December.
On 15 December, the hamper had not arrived so I emailed them an enquiry. They did not answer.
On 23 December, the hamper still had not arrived, so I emailed them again. This time, they asked me to verify the address, which I had given correctly. They said the hamper had been dispatched on 7 December (four days after it was supposed to have arrived).
On 5 January, the hamper still had not arrived, so I emailed them again. They said the non-delivery was not their fault, but a delivery issue with the delivery agency they engaged.
They suggested that my friend in Rome contact the delivery agency in Rome to sort it out. He did, and when the hamper finally arrived, on 10 January, he discovered that it appears the address label had been printed wrongly, despite me providing the correct address.
Under consumer law my contract is with Ciseáin Go Leor Limited as the supplier of the service. Despite this, they have refused to refund even the “shipping and handling”.
