I am writing to formally express my disappointment and frustration regarding an incident that occurred while placing an order over the phone with a customer service representative at Bath & Body Works.
On December 10, 2024 I placed an order for an item on sale priced at $3.50. During the call, I explicitly authorized the representative to charge the amount to my card. I was assured this would be done. However, upon picking up my order the following day, I discovered that my $16.95 reward coupon had been used without my permission to complete the transaction.
This became evident when I attempted to use the reward coupon in-store to purchase another item for $16.95. To my surprise, I was informed that the coupon was no longer available because it had been applied to the $3.50 purchase the previous night.
Upon returning home, I immediately contacted customer service to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, I was informed that nothing could be done to resolve the issue.
Specifically:
They would not charged the authorized amount of $3.50 to my credit card.
They would not reinstated my $16.95 reward coupon, earned through prior purchases, that was wrongfully applied
This error was not mine, and yet I am now unfairly deprived of my earned reward and have received no satisfactory resolution.
