I ordered a small piece of audio hardware on 31st October from what I thought was a UK based supplier. The item was shipped a couple of days later through Mondial, a French company. It hadn't arrived after a few days so I emailed Bax to ask where it was, but no response.
A day later I had an email that it was delayed, but eventually it turned up to the MyHermes depot. Then it was delayed again, and I got an email at 11pm Friday night, 9 days after ordering it from MyHermes saying someone would message me Saturday, but no-one did.
I wanted the item for Sunday 6th Nov. Last night (Sunday evening) I had an email from Bax asking how the did and to leave review so I emailed them asking where the parcel was and to please respond. No-one did. Today (Monday) I hoped the parcel would turn up. No luck, until later on in the day, when a lady from another house in the village turned up saying she hoped this was the right house as MyHermes had left it at her house with her parcels. Thank goodness she was honest.
The item was purchased from a UK company because I wanted a piece of hardware with a UK plug, otherwise I could have bought one from Germany. I know the difficulties of using third party plugs with tube amps. No mention appeared to have been made on the website about it coming with a 2 pin plug and a cheap adaptor.
The package is quite small, as it's a vacuum tube amp (ie glass inside). This was delivered in a huge box with no packaging inside to prevent movement.
Testing it there appears to be some damage as there is a constant hum and crackle on the output, even with no input applied. I'll have to return it.
I can't see me purchasing anything through them again. Probably use someone else.
