Great bass at excellent price…. BUT !!!
I have been searching for a second hand Jazz bass from Fender for a good few weeks and wanted to spend around £450-£500 for the right model. I have used Bax before and had a fairly good service. I came across a Fender Jazz Player plus in aged candy apple red on the Bax website. It was a B stock model which had no box or deluxe gig bag but described as being undamaged and no signs of usage - and the best bit -£400 less than the usual retail price!!
I jumped in this for £560 with the website stating it was in stock and delivery would be 2/3 days!! Wow a bargain and fast delivery.
I placed my order and paid in 31st July and expected it delivered in 2/3 days so by 4th August. I was sent an email stating it was with the courier Parcelforce on Express 24 delivery. On the website for Parcelforce the guitar showed as ADVISED. Yes you guessed it - no bass on Friday. I made enquiries using messenger and Bax said they would look into it. I emailed the CEO of Bax who then contacted a member of his staff to sort it out. I received the bass today. Not sure what it did for a week, but reading up on Bax , this does seem to be their issue - the delivery side of things- if they can get on top of that then their customer satisfaction would improve somewhat.
Any way what about the bass? It’s fantastic ! Just as described with no marks and just like brand new for almost half the price. I defy any other music retailer in Europe to supply this at a better price in this “brand new” condition.
Well done Bax but a star lost for a weeks delay in delivery !
