Hi, I purchased this Les Paul kit because it was a good price and most of all it had a factory painted finish, I wanted to build the guitar but I know I wouldn't be able to get the finish which is even better than I expected, no marks at all. I wasn't too bothered about the parts as being so cheap I could change anything. The frets were not levelled and the fret ends were not rounded so I had to do that, I did not expect it to have been done for the price. I copper shielded the pockets as a matter of course, and I changed the plastic nut which was too high, for a Graphtech nut, an easy upgrade. I thought about changing the plastic coveres for black ones but decided that the cream ones look quite good. The pickups have no brand on them but they are not microphonic at all and they actually sound pretty good so they are staying at leasr for now. It came with small pots but they work OK. The guitar looks, sounds and plays very nicely now, which makes it exceptional for the price.
