I have had several orders with Beer Hawk and I have been very happy with the service. I have two minor gripes however which I have identified on this last order. 1. Beer Hawk omitted an item from the delivery that I had paid for (a glass). As I was at work my wife contacted Beer Hawk to inform them and my she was offered a) a refund or b) Beer Hawk vouchers to double the value of the missing glass (£8 of vouchers). My wife accepted the vouchers which were promptly allocated. So I did not have the glass I had ordered and paid for, but was in possesion of an extra £8 of vouchers (£4 to reimburse me for the glass and £4 extra). Nothing wrong with this as such, and I am content with the outcome, except I wonder why Beer Hawk did not offer to dispatch the missing glass to me immediately to honour my order in full? Surely this should have been their first priority to rectify their mistake? It wasn't even mentioned. Are Beer Hawk prioritising solutions that are cheaper for them (i.e. £4 instead of another £6.99 delivery cost? 2. I ordered over £50 of goods to take advantage of the free delivery. However it becomes clear when in checkout that the delivery which is free will take several days to make, whereas if I paid an extra £3 (on a free delivery order) or paid the standard £6.99 delivery charge, I would get my beer the next day. So - spending enough to qualify for free delivery in fact leaves me with a 'second class' delivery service. I guess that's part of the deal - presumably the £6.99 delivery is too expensive to give away free on £50 worth of order? I suppose what I'm saying is when I get a free delivery offer I'd expect my delivery to come just as quickly as normal. I wouldn't have made a special effort to feedback about the above - but as I received your review request I thought I would. Hope you find this feedback useful from a customer service perspective.
