As a videographer/film editor, I bid for 10 jobs and only was successful in getting one. However I did notice that four or five other people were also bidding for these jobs and in seven out of the ten jobs nobody got booked at all! I put it down to customers who a) couldn’t afford it and got cold feet when they saw what was involved b) only had a vague idea what they wanted and cooled on the project later.
Outlines given to bid price on jobs are also too vague to give an accurate estimate.
Cost of bids is rarely refunded ( about £7 a time )
