Dubious practices. Beware.
Found the spec of the Jaguar XF I wanted at Big Motoring World.
Problem #1:
Phoned them to check the availability of the car, "yes it was still available, did I want to reserve it for a £99 Refundable Deposit". The deposit was not refundable, but transferable to another car! I only found this out after receiving the text message upon arriving at the facility at Bluebell Hill, which I did not have time to read until the next day. I consider this underhand dealing.
#2 Drove 102 miles to view the car. Met with a Salesperson that would be better flipping burgers at MdDs. Almost rude, but definitely disrespectful: "it only has one key, is that a deal breaker?"....before I had even seen the car I had spent 1.5hrs driving to see. "oh, most of our cars only have one key". They cost about £500 to buy a new one.
#3. They get the car, and I see that it is an ex' lease car that has been unloved and knocked about, a Jaguar dealership would not have even listed the car as it was in such poor condition. "Oh, is that a deal breaker? It wont look any better after you have test driven it!"
#4. Test drive: you are directed around a loop that has a 40mph speed limit and about 2 miles long, not enough to properly test the car, during that time I noted the steering wheel was not centered, "oh, the car comes with a 90 day warranty"...... I can tell you that it would not cover that sort of fault.
#5. They promote the cars are sold at a bargain price, this car was below standard, but was at the correct price for a GOOD car. The price is non negotiable once you point out the deficiencies in the car.
My experience would stop me from buying a car at this outfit.
Looking at the Google reviews it is easy to see that the reviews are bogus: who would photograph the outside of the dealership, or the reception on their "outstanding review".
