Absolutely Disappointed - BikeDiscount's Quality Control is a Joke!
I've been a loyal BikeDiscount customer for years, making numerous purchases and generally being very satisfied. However, my recent experience has completely shattered my trust and forced me to reconsider my opinion.
I recently ordered a SRAM crank with an integrated power meter. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear the box had been opened before. The inside of the box was damaged, and shockingly, the power meter component was duplicated within the packaging. Despite these red flags, I foolishly trusted BikeDiscount's reputation for expertise and quality.
My trust was utterly misplaced. After installation, the power meter simply didn't work. The crank functions fine for riding, but it transmits no wattage data whatsoever. When I proposed a reasonable solution – sending me a new, working item and allowing me to return the faulty one only after I had the replacement (to avoid being without a bike for weeks) – my request was flat-out rejected.
I understand standard return procedures for manufacturing defects. But this is NOT a manufacturing defect. This is a clear case of BikeDiscount's gross negligence. They failed to thoroughly inspect an item that was clearly opened and likely defective from a previous return, and then they shamelessly resold it to me.
I am incredibly disappointed. Not only was I delivered a broken item, but I'm also appalled by BikeDiscount's unethical decision to knowingly sell me a flawed product. My faith in their quality control, especially when dealing with returned items, is now completely gone. BikeDiscount clearly has serious work to do in their quality assurance processes.
