I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Boots Kings Heath Birmingham on 27th August.
I was near the pharmacy counter with a question about a product. A member of staff had just finished serving a customer, but instead of acknowledging me or asking if I needed help, she walked away and went to serve another customer at the pharmacy.
I then approached another member of staff on the shop floor, Hazel, to ask about a promotional offer. To my shock, she responded with a rude tone and unprofessional attitude. If I had been a mystery shopper, Hazel would have most definitely failed, as her behaviour did not reflect the standards expected in customer service.
Having worked in customer service and care for over 20 years, I can confidently say this level of service is unacceptable. Staff in retail roles should be approachable, respectful, and attentive, because customers are the reason the business exists. Sadly, this was my second bad experience at this store, and I will not be returning.
I hope Boots takes action to improve recruitment and training at this branch, as staff with such poor manners and disregard for customers seriously damage the company’s reputation.
