My mom had a ILIT with Brighthouse, and passed this January. They paid the claim fairly promptly, but for less than the cash value shown on statements. My sister (who is estate's executor) has been trying to get an explanation for over 60 days, has spend numerous hours on hold, and been promised "a claims supervisor" will call her multiple times. Truly horrific "customer service"
