As a beneficiary, THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE A PERSON COULD GO THROUGH POST LOSING THEIR LOVED ONE! Brighthouse messed-up all of our (4) beneficiaries' 1099-R, not once, but twice! We each had to ask for tax extensions due to their blatant mess-ups...and each of us had to call individually to have Brighthouse fix THEIR MISTAKES that were brought to their attention with the first phone call by one of the four beneficiaries. Brighthouse should have wanted their tax records corrected as well and should have fixed all 4 with one call!!! Oh, and try to reach someone to resolve!!!! That's a whole other nightmare! Disconnects, excessively long hold times, misdirected calls, and language barriers!!!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Brighthouse....fix your customer service and educate your people on preparing 1099-Rs!!!!!! I will never recommend this group to anyone!!!! I wouldn't want them, or their survivors, to go through any similar nightmare!!! P.S. Be sure your 1099-rs are correct because Brighthoyse SIGNIFICANTLY, MASSIVELY over stated our taxable income in block 2a!!!!! Thank God our tax accountant found it...because none of us knew better!!!
