I purchased two clubs, one in 'good' condition and one in 'average' condition, but both within 5% of price for a similar club. The good club is great, the average one is junk; a condition below what I would see in a thrift shop $2 club.
Callaway were responsive, they told me that average is 1-2 on a 10 point scale, but I had to haggle to get them to pay for the return club. If I use them again, I would not trust anything below good in future if I use them at all.
