Last week I needed, at short notice, a memory card and spare battery for my 5D mk2. Having walked out of a national chain of computer retailers, feeling depressed by the uncaring, uninformed staff, I drove down to the Edinburgh branch of Calumet. The young woman at the counter immediately asked if I needed any help, gave excellent advice - pointing out they had a £26 Calumet battery which she'd had good customer feedback on, as an alternative to the £69 Canon version. So I left feeling, 'What an excellent place!' The only problem is that Calumet should do more to advertise their rather obscure location, especially with the demise of Jessops Edinburgh branch and Jacobs.
