Carfax saved me from buying a Honda Pilot that had been in two accidents. One of these accidents deployed the air bags. I decided to check the Carfax the very morning I was going to march into the dealership and buy the thing. I was ready to go $3000 over my budget and finance it, like an idiot. Also, I checked the Carfax prior to purchasing the car I did end up with (a Mercury Monterey mini-van) and it was dead clean. Carfax is worth every penny you spend on it.
