Carfax is absolutely garbage. This is the 2nd report in 2 month where I find out something major about a car and they do not respond and the resolution managers are incompetent taking 2 weeks to reply only to tell me to complete the form I had to complete in the beginning. The car I bought turned out to be salvaged that was reported 2 years prior after carfax having clean title . They will not respond much less honor the buyback gurantee.

I pulled report on my own car. Saw lot’s of incorrect information. Sent invoices with correct data. For weeks have just been sent automatic email telling me they are busy. Called the headquarters number and it has no way to actually contact a person.

On Aug 10th we drove an hour and a half to Williamsport to go car shopping for my daughter for her 16th birthday. The first place we stopped at was Nissan Blaise Alexander, the salesman came out right away, and then a 2nd and 3rd time. Then we found a Hyundai Kona the color my daughter was looking for, beside it sat a Forrest Green Nissan ( remember this the green Nissan). We looked at and test drove one the day before back home the same miles. Except the one near home was loaded with moon roof, apple charge and more options but the color was black and they were asking the same price for a base model with about 500 more miles. After about 15 mins talking to my daughter she said she liked it better, so I said we'd talk numbers. The salesman said he would have them pull it around and clean it, I said ya you thought they would have done a better job before putting it on your lot. So I offered cash for my offer price, they said no because I'm not taking out a loan. Then the manger said the only way we can even give you $500 off the car is if you take a loan out. I said I know how it works, I take a loan and your company gets a kick back off my loan so you force people to use your loan company. I've been around the business most of my life, you always have top end and mark up on all vehicles. Told them if you can't get it below $22k your wasting my time. The manger came back and agreed on my terms, and did a 6 month loan . They did the loan, we kept getting bounced between 3 different offices 3 hrs later they stated they were still waiting on the authorization of the loan. That was a lie, I got confirmation 10 min after they filed for loan, the salesman kept walking off talking to other customers, disappearing for 20 mins. Remember that green Nissan truck, they showed hr after us test drove the truck, and I saw them putting tags on the truck and I walked out and talked to them. They showed up and he was after us and they were leaving at this point I was about to leave. Then he said paperwork was done, 30 min later he still didn't return, I see him out there talking to other customers. I walked and stated right in front of everyone I didn't sign the papers yet I can just walk out here. Then he disappeared again. Then came in with paperwork and video, then disappeared again for 20min. My nephew was there with his wife and daughter who works at Subaru Alexander she even stated it never takes this long. During the finishing of paperwork, they failed to tell me about the cars factory warranty before they sold me another warranty. This is just plan dishonesty to me. After 3.5 hrs finally getting the car, the salesman lied it was never cleaned again. The manager has an attitude, lack of customer service, and they honestly don't care about customers. So on Aug 10th we came home and had to clean a car but don't worry I took pictures of how your dealership is for my own records. I won't buy another vehicle from any Blaise Alexander/ or Aubrey Alexander car dealership ever again

Carfax issued me a complete refund for a vehicle history report that they ran on my car. But the damage had already been done with a prospective buyer. Carfax's report came with the warning "POTENTIAL ROLLBACK OF ODOMETER". This was because Carfax software converted what it "believed" to be miles into kilometers. Embarassing for me. DO NOT USE CARFAX!

Maskless service manager, Eugene C. Waterbury, Jr. Harasses Customer I've taken three vehicles for service to Bengal Motors for three years now. Most of my experiences have been decent - until today. Justin, who oversees inspections & oil changes, was friendly and informative as always. I ate my lunch in the larger dealership waiting area until my car was done. Upon returning to the service area to wait for my car to be taken one last time around the block before check out, I sat down in the service area seating. Within one minute, a man emerged from the back office, approached and stood over me, and began demanding I "go to the dealership waiting room." Mr. Eugene Waterbury did not initially ask what I was waiting for. When I asked why, he said that this was a "high traffic area" and I should not be sitting there. I noted that I was not in anyone's way and was waiting in chairs for customers. He began repeatedly stating, "MOVE, MA'AM". I told him to stop harassing me. He finally asked Justin, who had just walked inside, what I was waiting for. Justin told him my car was being run around the block one last time and that it was finished. Mr. Waterbury told Justin to "get her out of here as soon as possible!" This man stood over me, NO MASK, telling me to MOVE, citing only that this was a "high traffic area" - with no one in that area but myself and him and one other customer rep at the far end of the room. I was rung up within five minutes of Mr. Waterbury's initial harassment. Even if I had walked back to the dealership, Justin would have had to follow and ask me to return within two minutes. This man was NOT concerned with COVID-19. At least, not concerned with giving it to me, since he was standing over me & telling me on repeat to "MOVE." HIS CONCERN: He decided to engage in a power-play when I did not immediately obey his initial command to leave the room. I recorded the last part of Mr. Waterbury's harassment, which is worthy of going viral on Twitter & Instagram. I will tag Bengal Motors when I post. Begnal Motors, I hope you ask Mr. Waterbury to remain in his office from now on. He does NOT cultivate good customer relations and you risk being reported for harassment to the Better Business Bureau. He also raises health concerns with his lack of social distance & maskless engagement while standing directly above a seated customer. In fact, you would be better off removing Mr. Waterbury from his front-facing position with customers and replace him with representatives like Justin, who are consistently polite, friendly and informative. Picture: the "high traffic area" seating Mr. Waterbury did not want me sitting in for four minutes.

My son and I searched car fax for days and finely found the car he wanted! It was so easy and gave us more information than I could have imagined!! It lead us to West Point Auto Sales in Mattawan, MI which was over an hour away for us. We called to confirm the car was there, made the trip and worked with Jason and Brent! They were amazing and made our transaction simple and efficient! Highly recommend going the route we did!

Carfax makes it extremely difficult to remove an error in a report. Further they do not appear to investigate entries by mechanics or dealers. My vehicle had an engine replaced per manufacturer warranty issue. No accident or frame issue yet the mechanic reported body damage maybe? What the hell is that. Carfax is taken as gospel and it shouldn’t be. It had many many flaws that effect the future of a vehicle.

I purchased a vehicle in 2017 (it was model year 2017 as well). The Carfax was clean and touted by the dealer, Car Gurus etc. 9 months after I purchased the car, an accident shows on the report, which now invalidates my manufacturer warranty, so now I am out $3800 for repairs. From CarFax - "Therefore, we cannot guarantee to report all accidents and damages. CARFAX always recommends the CARFAX Report is used along with a pre-purchase vehicle inspection and thorough test drive to check for prior repairs, hidden damage, and anything that might not have been reported to CARFAX." Basically, if it is not reported, you are out of luck and they bear no responsibility. Great business model - “Hey buy this car because it has a clean carfax (as far as we know) and if it does not, then you are responsible." Never again will I pay for or rely on their reports because they are not much better than best guesses.

I traded in a car that had a $15,000 repair on this car. The dealer came back after appraising my trade and says the carfax came back clear. Carfax is a total joke.

Contacted Ferman Ford Countryside in Clearwater Fl about a vehicle I saw here. Worse customer service in 50 years of purchasing vehicles! Pass over this dealership. What they advertise is not on the lot!

They provided me with a seemingly comprehensive report on my recently purchased Lexus that the dealer promised but I couldn't find, for $1. Was really easy to navigate site and felt confident I wasn't being taken advantage of when making my payment.

Carfax is "reporting" severe damage to a brand new vehicle before I ever purchased it with less than 5 miles on it. There is no source for the severe damage and the dealer has no record of it either. Again, I got this truck new and this damage was "reported" one month prior to me buying the brand new truck from the dealer. I already knew that you couldn't trust Carfax to include everything in a vehicle's history, but now I realize that their system just makes stuff up. This is costing me time and money as I get it straightened out and it's very frustrating. Carfax cannot be trusted when buying or selling.

Was accused of hit and Run- found out when Irvington NJ Police sent 3 tickets to me via the mail- I had to get a lawyer to fight the tickets- no one but the Police were pressing charges/tickets against me. I won and my tickets were dismissed- but it cost $ to prove my innocence- then I run a carfax report and my car shows a accident- i call them and they want a updated police report- Irvington police will not give or recreate a police report but sent me 3 letters of disposition which shows tickets dismissed- these are on the courts letterhead but Carfax wont accept them- they want something the Police will not give me because the police already gave me proof of innocence- who is Carfax to be above the law and cost innocent people money ? Not fair-now I have to get a lawyer again because Carfax is untouchable - But at least now I learned that Carfax reports are not worth as much as I thought they were in the past- I used them and probaly missed out on vehicles because I thought they were on point- I was wrong- dont trust carfax!!

I chose the "one-report' option for $39.99 and carfax charged me the $99.99 fee, and THEN, I never received the report. The website's "CONTACT US" option leads to nowhere. Using the dealer option will at least allow you to leave a voicemail to request an email. I plan to contest this transaction, then cancel my credit card. All I can say is, ... Word of mouth advertising.

The report was great. Extensively detailed. Only problem i have is it won't print. And the whole reason i got it was for the DMV and they need a hard copy. Therefore i can't recommend these services
