Carfax is the De-facto before buying a used car. It has saved me from buying a lot of cars which were good looking but didn't have so good history. It is completely worth it. Car buying is a major decision and buying a carfax account is small but significant fist step towards it. You can be 60-70% sure of buying a car based on its carfax report, rest 30-40% depends on you checking the car physically. So you see how carfax has a Lion's share in decision making!! I am glad I bought a carfax account before buying my car.
