CARFAX saved me from a major mistake and helped me find a good deal. I was at a reputable/large dealership ready to buy a car when I pulled the CARFAX, the report showed that the mileage on the odometer did not match with what was reported by the DMV. Needless to say I walked away from that 'deal'. The good deal came from a car that was priced great the CARFAX report validated everything the seller told me about the car and I purchased it with hesitation. That car has been a great little car for my son.
