It is surprising how many dishonest car sellers are out there. Twice in the past 3 months I have found the car that fits my criteria only....well, looked like it fit my criteria. In both cased the miles were under reported by well over 100,000 and one had been in a serious collision with major damage....it was listed as "clean", but it was actually a salvage.
The money spent on CarFax reports saved me thousands in bad car purchases.
