Carfax saved my son and I from making a bad deal. The car looked to be in excellent shape. it drove well, no leaks, engine noises etc... The seller was making claims that "it had always been in the family" had no issues etc... and we were about to close. Then I did a quick Carfax check and found out that the car had had 4 owners and that there was potentially at least 70k miles missing off of the odometer. We made a hasty retreat and thank Carfax for saving us from making a bad deal.
