I was shopping with private sellers for a vehicle to purchase for cash for under $6,000. I found a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 L that was in great condition and showed 80,000 miles on the odometer. Kelly Blue Book listed the value as $5,800 and the seller said he would accept $5,700. I agreed to the price, but said I wanted to run a Carfax first.
