In 2009 I was looking for a used 1 to 2 year old Lincoln Town Car. I found a 2008 model in Cleveland, Georgia that was a year old, with 10,000 miles on it. When I looked at the CARFAX report, it told me date that the car had been purchased, that it had never been wrecked, that it had been serviced and that it had been purchased by a rental company and used in their rental fleet. The knowledge that the Town Car has been in a rental fleet allowed me to insist on and receive a much larger discount when I negotiated for the lowest purchase price I could get.
