Carfax reports helped to identify many aspects that dealers wouldn't tell and prevented me from buying cars which had problems, improper maintenance or heavy usage.
Carfax email notification has made me aware of the new cars on sale even before dealers had them listed on the web. Finally I've got my 2008 Mazda 5 based on one of these notifications.
Minus one star for hiding the truth abouth unlimited reports (its by plate only, you still get only 5 VIN reports).
