I recently purchased a car from a private party. I ran the car fax and brought a print out with me, I was able to negotiate with the seller much more effectively while pointing out the car fax report listed the small faults and it's not as "perfect" as the seller advertised. The $50 was well spent in exchange to a $3000 lower price for purchasing the car!
