I needed to find a car in Texas for my little sister without having to travel from my home in NC. I successfully used carfax reports to verify if sellers were being honest about the condition of their vehicles. After selecting four to five vehicles my sister test drove the cars and asked questions based on the carfax detail report.
We were able to finalize a decision on a 1994, Honda CRV which had only one owner and a little over 150,000 miles. In summary I didn't have to spend time and hundred of dollars to fly and travel in search of a car.
