Carfax allowed me to find that the vehicle I was interested was a buyback and had been in 5 accidents since 1997. As a very experienced automotive enthusiast, I will never even look at another car until I see its Carfax. With a carfax in hand I was able to negotiate the price from $3500 to $500.
