Very good. One of our cats has the microchip in the middle of her back, but the catflap still picks it up as she enters. The only issue is that it takes a little while for the cats to get used to it, as the mechanism makes a fairly loud click as is activates when it picks up the microchip and this makes the cats nervous. So it takes a bit of coaxing at first, however after a week or so they have settled in to it.
